3 lb Package Bees with Mated Queen - 2026

Each 3 lb package of bees contains approximately 3 pounds of live honey bees and one mated queen, housed in a traditional Benton-style 3-hole cage. Packages include a container of liquid sugar syrup to sustain the bees during transport and installation.
 
Each package is sufficient to establish one complete honey bee colony.
 
Queen Options
Marked Queen (+$8)
Choose between an unmarked or marked queen. A marked queen is easier to locate during inspections and helps confirm whether the original queen is still present. There is no difference in colony performance between marked and unmarked queens.
Clipped Wing Queen (+$10)
Most customers do not select this option. Wing clipping is generally unnecessary for new beekeepers unless using a Top Bar hive, Warré hive, or no-foundation frame system.
Queens are selected for strong performance and calm temperament and may be sourced early in the season from trusted regional breeders.
